  • Chicken Breasts, thinly shaved
    170 g~1/3 lb
  • Za'atar
    to taste
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Non Stick Cooking Spray
    a spritzfor searing

Remaining wrap components

  • high protein tortilla wrap
  • Hummus
  • Pickles
  • Feta

Method

Step 1: Sear the chicken breast

If needed, thinly slice the chicken breast into razor-like shavings with a sharp knife.

Preheat a pan or skillet, add a spritz of cooking oil, then add the chicken to . Season with a generous sprinkle of za’atar.

Gently mix & break up the chicken to evenly distribute the spices as it cooks through. Once all the pieces are cooked, taste and adjust with extra salt or seasoning if needed.

Step 2: Assemble the wrap

Spread a thin layer of hummus into the center of the tortilla wrap. Add a layer of pickles, and then add all of the cooked chicken. Finish with crumbled feta over top.

Tightly roll up the tortilla (like a burrito) to contain the wrap.

Step 3: Toast & serve

Return the assembled wrap to the pan and toast over medium heat until at least two sides are lightly golden. Focus on toasting the tortilla seam to seal the wrap together.

Cut in half & enjoy.

“I found pre-shaved chicken breast at the grocery store, but you could thinly slice your own with a sharp knife, or use pre-ground chicken instead. The thin shavings are what make this dish cook so fast.”

FAQ

Do I have to use shaved chicken breast?

Thinly shaved chicken cooks very quickly and makes this recipe come together in minutes. If you don’t have access to pre-shaved chicken breast, you could use ground chicken or thinly slice chicken breast yourself. The thinner the pieces, the faster they will cook.

This recipe would also work with other proteins like chicken thighs or different ground meats, but the macros and texture will be different.

Do I have to use Za’atar?

Nope, you could use any seasoning on the chicken.

The za’atar pairs well with the hummus for a Mediterranean flavor profile, and is a great weeknight seasoning blend that adds tons of and as a single ingredient.

What other kinds of fillings would work in this wrap?

Instead of hummus, a yogurt sauce would work great as a condiment. Substitute the pickles with other pickled vegetables (peppers, onions) or fresh items like tomatoes & lettuce.

In general, wraps are great for using up various proteins, vegetables, cheeses, condiments, and other fridge items you might have lying around.
