Step 6: Assemble the casserole
Transfer the braised beef, carrots, and thickened sauce to a casserole dish, spreading everything into an even layer.
Scatter the frozen peas over the filling.
Spoon the mashed potatoes over the top and gently spread them into an even layer. Finish with an additional layer of grated Parmesan.
At this point, bake the casserole immediately or cover and refrigerate until you're ready to eat.
